Education
Brandon Moonier is dedicated professional and life-long Jefferson County resident. After graduating from Crystal City High School, he pursued further education at Jefferson College. There he secured an Associate of Arts degree in 2002.
Moonier then excelled at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with honors in 2004. His pursuit of knowledge led him to St. Louis University School of Law. It was there where he graduated with honors in 2007 and received his Juris Doctorate Degree.

Moonier’s professional journey commenced at Thurman Law Firm in 2007. Here he evolved from a law clerk and associate attorney, to a Partner in 2011. Specializing in real estate and contract litigation/transactions, estate planning, and representing municipal entities, Moonier has notably excelled in telecommunication/cell tower leases and disputes, earning national recognition.
Achievements
Moonier has been acknowledged as a Rising Star in real estate by Super Lawyers for four consecutive years. This honor is bestowed on no more than 2.5 percent of the attorneys in the state each year. Subsequently, he was also honored as the Jefferson College Alumnus of the Year in 2016 for his outstanding contributions to his profession and community.
The Thurman Law Firm, with Moonier as a partner, has earned accolades in the legal realm, including recognition in the U.S. News and World Reports Best Law Firms and the Jefferson County Growth Association’s Jeffersonian Award for Small Business of the Year.
Community Involvement
Mr. Moonier stands out for his unwavering commitment to service and advocacy. He is a dedicated member of the Festus/Crystal City, Missouri community, His involvement as a past president and former member of the Rotary Club reflects his deep-rooted dedication to making a positive impact locally.
Having adopted three children from foster care, Moonier experienced first hand how advocates help and support children in the juvenile system. This led him to join Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Jefferson County where he now serves as the Board President. Additionally, his contributions to the Jefferson College Foundation Board and the St. Pius X High School Strategic Plan Committee underline his multifaceted community involvement.
Residing in Festus, Missouri, with his daughter Eliza, sons Jakob, Jionni and Jaxon and wife, Erica, who is a premier services banker with BMO Harris Bank, Moonier exemplifies a model of service-minded leadership within his community.

During his time at St. Louis University, Moonier’s legal prowess shone through his involvement with the St. Louis University Public Law Review, where his article, “The Legal Game Behind Fantasy Sports: Copyright Protection and the Right of Publicity in Professional Performance Statistics“, was featured in the 2007 publication. He is also frequently cited in arguments regarding rights of publicity.
